The 3 New Years Resolutions You Need To Set To Achieve Maximum Results Next Year

It's that time of year again. Thanksgiving is over, the end of the year is in sight, and some of us are living the days in between with reckless abandon as we look forward to life shifting improvements we are going to make to ourselves in the coming year.

New Years Resolution Time!

Now, if you are like most people, you are reviewing the list of goals you set last year (possibly for the first time since you set them) and gearing up to put your head down and charge to achieving those same goals starting January 1st, more than likely fueled by 30 days of Christmas cookies (plus or minus).

Does that cycle sound familiar to you? This is the year to break the loop. Instead of setting the same goals as you do every year (lose weight, make more money, find true love, etc.), how about inking some New Years Resolutions that will really move the needle?

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION NUMBER 1

I will begin EVERY DAY with gratitude.

This is a must! This is not a goal. You must RESOLVE to take a few minutes every day to remember what you are grateful for. Studies have shown that people who practice a consistent ritual of gratitude have stronger immune systems, lower blood pressure, and enjoy higher levels of optimism and happiness. So every day, preferably early in the day, write down something you are grateful for.

*Pro Resolution Tip - Strive to find a magic moment from the day before that you can be grateful for, and add it to your list. Imagine re-reading your list of gratitude after 365 days. What an EPIC year you would have lived.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION NUMBER 2

I will review my top 5 goals DAILY!

People with clearly written goals achieve more consistent results than those without. In fact, more often than not, people who slip on their goals tend to fail simply because they forget what their goals are and why they want to achieve them. If you are reading this, then you are an achiever., and probably have alot on your mind. Don't make your goals "just another thing" you have to remember or put on some to-do list. Write them down every day to make them a part of you.

*Pro Resolution Tip - Even if you are setting similar goals to last year, set them differently, using different words and different emotions, and state them in the positive. For example, instead of "Lose 30 lbs" go with "Walk for 30 minutes a day." Instead of "pay off debt" go with "earn more income" or start a business."

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION NUMBER 3

I will focus on the progress, not the gap!

Too often we see the road to success as long and tedious, when in reality, we are passing milestones of achievement all the time. Even if you have 45 steps remaining, you may be 5 steps from where you started. Strive for step 6. Then strive for step 7. Then strive for step 10. Before you know it, you will be half way there. More importantly, you will feel less discouraged.

*Pro Resolution Tip - Have multiple milestones for your goals. For example, if your goal is to lose weight, there may be a day when the scale just doesn't move the way you expected. But maybe you DID exercise, or ate clean. Those are victories, just as much if not more so than a pound on the scale. Judge victory by things you can control. You may not be able to control how many pounds you lose, but you CAN control what you are doing on a consistent basis to achieve optimum health.

In closing, these are NOT GOALS, they are RESOLUTIONS. You are resolving to do things differently and to achieve a higher level of results than you have in the past. Resolve to take these three actions, and get ready to achieve results now!
