How Are Those Resolutions Treating You?

Hello Achievers!

Here we are, approximately a month after we all laid it down on the line and set some new years eve goals and resolutions. So let me ask you...

How's it going?

Are you a few pounds lighter and a few dollars richer? Maybe you are about the same place you were on January 1. Maybe you are in a worse place.

Either way, its time to revisit those resolutions and put some more coal on the fire!

If You Are On Your Way And Succeeding

This is the time of year when we start to feel comfortable. We have been achieving SOME progress and the very pain that we felt before that caused us to set these goals is starting to dissipate. No pain, no progress. When you started this year, there was something in you that was dissatisfied with some area of your life. If you have spent the last 30 days crushing your goals, that pain is not going to be as strong as it used to be. Comfort levels are setting in. So what do we do about it?

Time to find another "Why." Your reason for going this far was to get your body out of the state of discomfort it was in. Even if that pain is still there, find another why to add on. Maybe you have met a new gym partner who you dont want to let down. Maybe you have started a business and have a new client or two that you need to do it for. Grab onto those reasons to keep adding fuel to the fire! Keep Going!

If You Have Made Little To No Progress

First, lets define "little to no progress." This is all about effort. If you have not taken a single step toward achieving your goals and resolutions, skip to the next section on what to do if you are moving backwards, because, lets be honest, moving noplace is technically movinig backwards. That being said, if you are seeing little to no results BUT are taking actions consistently that SHOULD be producing results, its time to change your approach.

The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over, expecting a different result. First, take pride in the fact that you are trying, which is more than alot of other people can say. Take pride in any small amounts of progress or victories, because, at the end of the day, they are the building blocks of success and progress. Next, try something new. Find someone who has achieved your goal and ask them how they did it. Read a book, make a new plan, and STEP IT UP. The biggest breakthroughs are just past the biggest frustration. Keep Going!

If You Have Moved Backwards

Maybe you are in worse shape. Maybe you are still paying off those Christmas bills, or finishing off those Christmas cookies, and are sliding the wrong way. Unfortunately, you are not alone. This happens to people every year, who start with the best of intentions, but then life gets in the way.

Take a look at your goals and resolutions. Are they things you really wanted in the first place? Did you set a goal to run a marathon when your real goal was to fit into your favorite jeans. Be sure your goals are in line with what you really want. If your goals are on point, DEEPEN your reason. Look for a reason that really motivates you and drives you forward. You should not feel "so-so" about your goals. You should be driven to succeed. Look at your excuses you have been using. Are they legitimate or just stories you are telling yourself? Nobody is forcing you to eat the cookies. Finally, look at your actions. Are you taking consistent daily actions that are moving you toward your goal? If not, start taking one or two positive actions a day. Most important, in case you havent picked up on it already. KEEP GOING!

Wishing you the greatest of success moving forward in the new year. Get out there and Achieve Results NOW!
